WLAN and Firewall Specialist (m/f/d)
Role:
You think of networks in packets, protocols, and security zones. This exact mindset counts in this position. As a WLAN and firewall specialist, you shape a sophisticated infrastructure from the access level to the perimeter. The focus is clearly on technology: clean designs, hardened components, and an architecture that grows with the company. Here, you actively determine the technical direction.
Responsibilities:
You test hardware and software for switching, wireless, and security within the scope of proof-of-concepts and roll out the appropriate components productively
With a view to redundancy, scalability, and high availability, you design the network architecture of core, distribution, and access
Furthermore, you harden the environment with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), micro-segmentation, and granular access policies
You plan radio networks in Wireless LAN (WLAN) with site surveys and channel planning and implement controller-based architectures
Additionally, you automate recurring configurations and monitor via SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog
You also lead the evolution of the entire network and security architecture and document designs and changes precisely
Qualifications:
A completed bachelor’s degree in computer science or cyber security forms your foundation
You master Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies such as VLAN trunking, LACP, VRF, and dynamic routing in depth
Several years of experience with firewall clusters, IPsec and SSL VPN, and policy design distinguish you
Moreover, you are well versed in IT security concepts such as RADIUS, certificate authentication, and threat prevention
You speak and write German at a high level, and you handle English manufacturer documentation or calls with vendor support effortlessly
You are also excited by every new technology and use manufacturer certifications or lab environments purposefully for your professional development
