Senior IT System Engineer (m/f/d)
Our ROCKEN partner is an owner-managed Swiss IT company that supports small and medium-sized enterprises as an IT general contractor throughout the entire infrastructure lifecycle – from the local server landscape through managed services to complete outsourcing in a highly secure, geo-redundant data centre. Role:
An experienced individual is sought as a Senior IT System Engineer for a versatile IT environment. The position combines classic system administration with modern infrastructure operation, client support, and participation in exciting IT projects.
The focus is on stable and secure IT systems for internal users as well as customers. The role offers a great deal of personal responsibility in the support of Microsoft infrastructures, virtualisation, Microsoft 365, and server systems.
Responsibilities:
Planning, installation, maintenance, and further development of IT infrastructures for internal and external environments
Support and continuous optimisation of server and data centre infrastructures
Responsibility for reliable deployment, patch, and system management
Ensuring stable IT operations as well as analysing and resolving technical faults
Participation in IT projects and optimisation of processes and operational workflows
Providing first- and second-level support and maintaining technical documentation
Qualifications:
Several years of professional experience in IT administration, system engineering, or technical support
Sound knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Hyper-V, HPE servers, and Microsoft 365
Experience with PowerShell or a comparable scripting or programming language; SQL knowledge is an advantage
Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented working style
High degree of independence, reliability, teamwork, and resilience
Very good German and good English skills as well as a category B driving licence
