WOOD CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF90,000 - 95,000Role:
On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced specialist as a Wood Construction Estimator / AVOR for the technical and economic handling of demanding wood construction projects. You review tenders, prepare well-founded offers and project calculations, and support management as well as project managers in selecting economically interesting projects. Through variant studies, cost optimisations, and early assessment of opportunities and risks, you create essential foundations for successful project execution. The position combines solid wood construction know-how with estimation, work preparation, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Responsibilities:
Review, analyse and assess tenders as well as check tender documents for technical and economic feasibility
Preparation of offers, cost estimates and detailed calculations for wood construction projects
Determination of material, manufacturing, assembly and subcontractor costs as a basis for market-appropriate pricing
Exchange with management, project management and planning to evaluate and select suitable projects
Obtaining, checking and comparing contractor and supplier offers and integrating the offers into the project calculation
Development of execution variants, alternative solutions and optimisation proposals considering costs, construction and feasibility
Conducting quantity surveys and measurement controls based on plans, specifications and tender documents
Supporting AVOR in preparing economic manufacturing and assembly processes
Early identification and assessment of opportunities, risks and cost drivers within projects
Preparation of calculation and decision-making bases for economic project execution and structured handover to project management
Maintenance of calculation bases, key figures and experience values from completed wood construction projects
Qualifications:
Completed training as a carpenter EFZ, ideally supplemented by further education at HF level, federal certificate of competence or wood construction foreman
Several years of professional experience in wood construction with practical knowledge in estimation and/or AVOR
Solid knowledge in tendering, submissions, measurement and cost calculation
Very good technical understanding of wood construction, manufacturing and assembly
Confident handling of calculation, ERP and MS Office applications, especially Excel
Good knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss construction practice
