Role:
Networks are the foundation of every stable IT landscape. As a Network Security Engineer, you take responsibility for modern network and firewall infrastructures, from routing and switching to WLAN and SD-WAN. You accompany projects from design to commissioning and remain the technical contact point during operation. You contribute your senior expertise to the team and actively shape architectural decisions.
Responsibilities:
You plan and implement network projects, from conception through configuration and migration to commissioning.
You operate and further develop network and firewall environments, ensuring stability, security, and availability.
In 3rd level support, you analyse complex faults and resolve them sustainably.
Furthermore, you identify risks early and derive appropriate security measures.
In addition, you expand monitoring, standardisation, and automation.
You also create technical documentation and ensure comprehensible operational handovers.
Qualifications:
You have completed training as an IT specialist EFZ, ideally supplemented by further education at HF or FH level.
You bring several years of experience in network engineering or a comparable role.
You have solid knowledge of routing, switching, WLAN, and firewall technologies, including Fortinet.
You are familiar with the operation and expansion of network environments from leading manufacturers such as Cisco, Juniper, or HPE Aruba.
Furthermore, you have implemented infrastructure projects such as migrations, modernisations, or firewall concepts.
You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, communicate confidently in German, and also find the right words in English.
