PROJECT MANAGER ARCHITECTURE (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional for project management and realisation of demanding architecture and building projects with a focus on conversion, renovation, and building in existing structures. You will take responsibility for diverse construction projects from design planning through project development to execution and develop high-quality architectural and constructive solutions. A special focus is on handling protected building fabric, heritage conservation requirements, and the careful further development of existing buildings. The position combines independent project responsibility with CAD-supported planning in Vectorworks, building construction, and interdisciplinary project coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Independent project management and handling of architecture and building projects across all relevant SIA project phases from conception to realisation

• Planning and project development of conversions, renovations, extensions, and new builds considering architectural, technical, and economic requirements

• Development and elaboration of architectural concepts, feasibility studies, and design variants for demanding construction projects

• Project work in the area of building in existing structures with a special focus on protected buildings, historic building fabric, and heritage conservation requirements

• Creation and coordination of preliminary project, construction project, building application, working, and execution plans with Vectorworks

• Elaboration of construction details, renovation concepts, and material solutions considering existing building structures

• Coordination and professional leadership of specialist planners, experts, and executing companies during project development and construction execution

• Coordination with clients, building authorities, and heritage conservation offices as well as support in building permit procedures

• Preparation and review of tender documents, specifications, and cost estimates as well as support in awarding contracts

• Project control and cost, schedule, and quality monitoring throughout the entire project process

• Technical support of construction execution including plan adjustments, detail clarifications, execution controls, and coordination with site management

• Integration of sustainable construction methods, energy-efficient renovation measures, and material-appropriate construction solutions into project development

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture degree FH/ETH or comparable recognised higher education

• Several years of professional experience in Switzerland in architecture project management, project development, and execution planning

• Solid knowledge in conversion, renovation, building construction, and building in existing structures; experience with listed building fabric is an advantage

• Good CAD skills, ideally with Vectorworks and Vectorworks 3D

• Experience in project management across several SIA phases including cost planning, schedule control, and specialist planner coordination

• Knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, building regulations, and building permit procedures, preferably in the canton of Bern

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for project documents, tenders, and authority contacts
