Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer for demanding projects in the field of railway infrastructure and public transport. You will handle static and structural issues related to track, structural and railway construction projects and accompany these through various planning phases. A key focus is on static calculations, structural design and finite element method (FEM) calculations as well as the preparation of technical proofs and documentation. The position combines in-depth engineering work with interdisciplinary infrastructure planning for projects in Switzerland and internationally.
Responsibilities:
Planning and structural processing of railway infrastructure facilities across various planning and project phases
Independent execution of static calculations and structural designs for track and other railway infrastructure elements
Preparation and assessment of static proofs considering relevant load cases and effects
Execution of finite element method (FEM) calculations using industry-standard calculation software such as ANSYS, SOFiSTiK or Dlubal
Development of technically, economically and structurally feasible solutions for complex issues in railway and infrastructure construction
Preparation and review of plans, calculations, technical reports and project documentation
Analysis and preparation of planning bases, boundary conditions and interfaces for interdisciplinary project teams
Collaboration with specialists from railway construction, track planning, structural engineering and other infrastructure disciplines
Handling projects in compliance with relevant SIA standards, structural standards and railway-specific requirements
Support in optimising and standardising internal calculation and planning processes
Qualifications:
Completed studies as a Civil Engineer ETH/FH/University specialising in structural engineering, structural design, infrastructure or transport route construction
Initial professional experience or solid academic practice in structural engineering, structural design or infrastructure construction
Knowledge in performing FEM calculations with ANSYS, SOFiSTiK, Dlubal or comparable software
Expertise in structural analysis, structural design and structural engineering
Experience in railway infrastructure, track or transport route construction projects is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards and Swiss structural standards
German and English at least level C1 spoken and written
