For a demanding enterprise IT environment, an experienced individual is sought as Senior Backup & Recovery Engineer. You will take on a central role in the reliable protection of business-critical data and ensure the stable operation of a modern backup infrastructure.
In addition to operational backup and restore operations, you will work on disaster recovery scenarios, automation, and the further development of the infrastructure. The position offers a great deal of responsibility and the opportunity to actively shape existing technologies as well as future migration projects.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring and monitoring the daily backup and restore operations for critical IT systems
Planning and conducting disaster recovery and data restoration tests
Developing monitoring and automation solutions for backup and recovery processes
Contributing to the architecture, further development, and modernisation of the backup infrastructure
Supporting technical migration projects and the replacement of existing legacy solutions
Taking on additional infrastructure tasks as well as participating in the on-call service
Qualifications:
Completed studies or higher education in Computer Science
3-5 years of professional experience in backup management, backup engineering, or enterprise data protection
Good knowledge of SAN storage, Linux, and Windows as well as practical experience with recovery and disaster recovery scenarios
Experience with Red Hat Linux and UNIX systems as well as a strong interest in automation
ITIL or TOGAF certification is an advantage
Analytical and solution-oriented personality with a high degree of personal responsibility, teamwork skills, and very good English skills
