The Finance Department of the HUG is responsible for the hospital's financial, budgetary and accounting management, patient administrative management, tariff setting, investment planning, development and maintenance of the business intelligence system. It manages a budget of nearly 2 billion francs, processes and controls more than one million supplier invoices and over one million patient invoices. It proposes and publishes indicators and dashboards to monitor activity and institutional objectives. It is also responsible for producing all official statistics submitted to health authorities.

As a financial analysis expert, you coordinate the annual and multi-year budget preparation process within the deadlines imposed by internal and external requirements. You orchestrate this implementation in partnership with the administrative and financial managers of the departments, the departmental management committees and the bodies of the Geneva University Hospitals. You ensure coherence between the four-year financial plan and the annual budget while respecting the instructions of institutional bodies and the State.

Your collegial spirit leads you to support the various professionals involved in budget preparation by ensuring the integration of budget elements into reporting, institutional dashboards and management accounting. Your ability to synthesise the process allows you to present clear and concise financial reports to the various internal and external stakeholders.

Your rigour and pragmatism coupled with your taste for innovation enable you to stabilise and continue the development of the new budgetary approach while being a driving force for proposals aimed at continuous improvement. In this capacity, you assume responsibility for various continuous improvement initiatives and are guarantor of the proper functioning and suitability of budgetary tools. You have the ability to adapt the budgetary process and methodology to move towards a zero-based budget.

Across departments, you actively participate in various projects of the Finance Department, thus contributing to the development of the institutional financial strategy.

You hold a Master’s degree from HEC or an equivalent qualification.

You have at least 5 years’ experience in management control focused on complex budget construction. Experience in the hospital environment and/or knowledge of the organisation and schedule of the State is also highly desirable.

You possess excellent mastery of standard IT and office tools such as Excel and Power Query.

Proficiency in Business Objects and IBM Planning Analytics is a definite advantage.

You have proven analytical skills, rigour and a sense of organisation. You demonstrate autonomy, reliability and know how to manage priorities.

Your team spirit and helpfulness as well as your communication skills allow you to integrate easily and maintain excellent relationships with your various interlocutors.
