The Internal Audit Department (IAD) fulfils two categories of missions: assurance missions (audit missions) and advisory missions.
Within the framework of its assurance missions, the Internal Audit Department provides the Audit Committee with an audit report including an objective assessment of an entity, a process, a system or other areas in order to form an opinion or conclusions. It adds value to the Institution by taking into account the strategy, objectives and risks, proposes ways to improve governance, risk management and control processes, and provides relevant assurance objectively. The scope and nature of the work execution are determined by this department.
Advisory missions aim to improve the functioning of the HUG. They concern the institution's governance processes, risk management and internal control. When carrying out an advisory mission, the internal auditor demonstrates objectivity and assumes no managerial responsibility in the activity concerned nor interferes with its prerogatives.
Attached to the Chair of the Board of Directors, in its capacity as Chair of the Audit Committee, the Internal Audit Department is responsible for establishing internal audit policies, defining and setting the general content of its audit and advisory activities.
It carries out the annual planning of audit missions, for which it seeks the Audit Committee's approval, their implementation and the coordination of work related to these missions and specific missions decided by the Audit Committee or with its approval. It ensures the conduct of independent and systematic audits of processes to assess their effectiveness in view of economic objectives and risks.
It regularly informs the Audit Committee of the progress of ongoing audits according to the planned deadlines.
The Internal Audit Department prepares the annual activity report which is submitted to the Audit Committee and then, after review and approval, communicated to the Board of Directors.
It coordinates risk management activities and the internal control system, the operational implementation of which is the responsibility of the department and division referents.
The IAD is looking for an internal auditor to complete its team of 6 internal auditors.
In this context, your main tasks are to plan, conduct and document audit missions according to the defined methodology. You identify and analyse risks and evaluate the internal control system implemented by the HUG to mitigate them.
You write relevant, clear and concise audit reports with recommendations that add value and then ensure follow-up on the recommendations made.
You regularly inform the IAD Director about the progress of your activities and significant findings. You clearly and succinctly present reports and findings to the IAD Director as well as to the managers of the audited areas.
Furthermore, you are an internal point of contact for any questions, information, documentation related to institutional procedures and directives as well as the cantonal or federal legal framework.
Finally, you contribute to the simplification of internal processes by leveraging collective intelligence.
You have a strong interest in hospital management within a university hospital and wish to participate directly in the continuous improvement of patient care and quality of services.

CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) and/or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification are prerequisites. Skills in cybersecurity, information systems governance and data protection as well as experience in auditing IT projects, digital transformations and continuity of critical systems and operational resilience are assets.
