CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are seeking an experienced professional for independent construction management and realisation of demanding building projects within an established Swiss architectural and construction management environment. You will take responsibility for the organisation, coordination and supervision of new build, conversion and renovation projects from tendering to handover. The focus is on site coordination, cost and schedule control, quality assurance, occupational safety, as well as the preparation of tender and contract documents. Depending on your professional experience, you will take on additional tasks in project management and project control, ensuring the proper implementation of planning in close collaboration with architects, specialist planners and contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Independent construction management and on-site supervision of demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects in building construction

• Organisation, coordination and control of all construction processes including site logistics, work scheduling and contractor coordination

• Preparation, monitoring and updating of construction programmes and schedules to ensure timely project completion

• Responsibility for cost monitoring and construction accounting including invoice control, change management, cost forecasts and final accounts

• Preparation of tender documents, specifications and invitations to tender as well as conducting offer comparisons and award preparations

• Development and review of contract documents taking into account applicable SIA standards and project-specific contractual requirements

• Quality assurance of construction execution by comparing execution plans, contracts, technical specifications and completed construction work

• Ensuring and enforcing occupational safety on construction sites in accordance with applicable SUVA guidelines and safety regulations

• Coordination of architects, specialist planners, contractors and specialists as well as leading construction meetings and execution discussions

• Review of execution and contractor plans as well as technical clarification of building constructions, interfaces and execution details

• Support or independent assumption of project management tasks including project controlling, schedule and cost management as well as regular reporting

• Organisation and execution of site inspections, commissioning and handovers including defect management, revision documentation and warranty processing

Qualifications:

• Completed training as a certified construction manager in building construction or technician HF in construction planning or comparable recognised construction-technical qualification

• Several years of professional experience in independent construction management of building, conversion or renovation projects in Switzerland

• Sound knowledge of Swiss SIA standards and building regulations, especially SIA 118, as well as relevant execution and quality standards

• Experience in tendering, costing, contract management, cost control and construction accounting

• Very good understanding of building construction, execution and detail plans as well as experience in coordinating specialist planners and contractors

• Confident use of digital construction administration and calculation programmes, for example Messerli, as well as Microsoft Office

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for construction meetings, contract documents, site reports and technical documentation
