Role:
Do you want to ensure that business-critical IT platforms operate reliably, securely, and efficiently? You enjoy working directly on the infrastructure, analysing complex technical contexts, and finding solutions that last in the long term. In this role, you take on an important function in the technical advancement of a demanding system landscape – from capacity planning through security measures to the automation of recurring operational tasks.
You can combine operational experience with strategic thinking and have the opportunity to actively influence architectural decisions and technical standards.
Responsibilities:
You ensure the reliable operation and continuous optimisation of the data centre and cloud environment and implement improvements directly on the systems.
You assess technical developments, further develop infrastructure concepts, and ensure an economical, scalable, and secure system architecture.
You plan and implement infrastructure changes, migrations, updates, and maintenance work and manage the further development of the components used throughout their entire lifecycle.
You undertake complex technical analyses in 3rd-level support, identify recurring causes of errors, and improve the stability and performance of the infrastructure.
You monitor quality and operational metrics, implement security and compliance measures, support the handling of risks and security incidents, and drive automation as well as the continuous improvement of processes.
Qualifications:
You bring several years of experience in the operational management of modern data centre, private cloud, or hybrid cloud environments.
You understand the interplay of compute, storage, network, virtualisation, data backup, and security and have experience building highly available infrastructures.
You master the operational processes around changes, updates, patches, problem resolution, and technical lifecycle planning.
You have a strong understanding of security and are familiar with standards such as ISO 27001 as well as requirements from Swiss data protection law and the GDPR. You are familiar with topics such as identity and access management, zero trust, and VPN.
You impress with initiative, a structured working style, and enjoyment of practical technology. You enjoy working with other professionals, are available for occasional work outside regular hours and on-call duty, and hold a category B driving licence.
