Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced individual as Senior Civil Engineer: Hydraulic Engineering & Hydropower for the planning and realisation of demanding national and international hydraulic engineering projects. You will handle projects in the areas of hydropower, waterways, flood protection, renaturation, and dams from the initial project idea through feasibility studies and design to execution and commissioning. You will develop technically and economically convincing solutions and take responsibility for complex engineering issues. The role combines demanding civil engineering with design, consulting, and coordination of interdisciplinary project participants.
Responsibilities:
Management and handling of demanding hydraulic engineering and hydropower projects in Switzerland and internationally
Planning and design of hydropower plants, water intakes, pressure pipelines, and hydraulic structures
Handling projects for river engineering, waterways, and flood protection
Development and design of renaturation and revitalisation measures for water bodies
Participation in planning, rehabilitation, and technical assessment of dams and reservoirs
Accompanying projects from the project idea and feasibility study through preliminary and construction design to execution
Preparation of variant studies, technical concepts, and feasibility assessments
Conducting or coordinating hydraulic and structural investigations as well as technical verifications
Preparation of tender and execution documents and support during tendering and awarding
Technical support during the realisation, commissioning, and acceptance of hydraulic structures
Coordination with clients, authorities, specialist planners, experts, and contractors
Ensuring project quality considering relevant SIA standards, safety requirements, and hydraulic regulations
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Civil Engineer ETH or FH
At least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in hydraulic engineering, hydropower, or infrastructure construction
Solid knowledge in design, hydraulic issues, and structural hydraulic engineering
Experience with hydropower, flood protection, watercourse, or dam projects is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant Swiss standards, approval procedures, and hydraulic framework conditions
Very good German skills as well as English skills; additional national language is an advantage
