As Product Owner Storage, you are responsible for central platforms for modern data storage and archiving. You further develop our Ceph-based object storage infrastructure, ensure its reliable operation and design modern self-service offerings for S3 storage. At the same time, you specifically advance automation, infrastructure as code and new technologies.
Responsibilities:
You develop, operate and optimise our Ceph-based object storage infrastructure.
You take on the responsibility as Product Owner for our S3-Glacier-compatible data archiving solution.
You support the operation and monitoring of our block storage infrastructure with NetApp ONTAP.
You design and implement self-service offerings for S3-compatible storage.
You ensure secure, stable and scalable operation of the platforms.
You advise employees and students on the use and integration of S3 storage.
You establish best practices for data storage, access concepts, lifecycle management and monitoring.
You automate operational processes and further develop platform components with infrastructure as code.
You evaluate new technologies and standards and integrate suitable solutions into the existing IT landscape.
Qualifications:
You have training in computer science, data engineering, system engineering or a comparable field.
You bring experience with data platforms, storage solutions or infrastructure services.
You are familiar with storage architectures at hardware and software level.
You have practical experience with Ceph or comparable distributed storage systems and S3/object storage.
You work confidently with automation, APIs, monitoring and IaC and know, for example, Ansible, Terraform or GitLab CI/CD.
You can clearly understand technical requirements and develop sustainable solutions from them.
You communicate fluently in German and can communicate well in English in a technical environment.
