About the job
Saint-Charles International School is looking for a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Summer Camp Director to join its team and contribute to the development and organisation of its international summer programme.
This position represents an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career wishing to quickly take on responsibilities in an international environment, particularly in the fields of event management, education, hospitality, project management and leadership.
Our Summer Camp welcomes young people aged 10 to 15 from around the world. You will be involved in all stages of the programme: preparation, activity organisation, team coordination, communication with families and operational management during the summer.
Above all, we are looking for a motivated, versatile, resourceful and solution-oriented person who wishes to invest in an international project and grow with it.
Your responsibilities
Summer Camp organisation
You will participate in the preparation and coordination of the entire Summer Camp throughout the year.
You will create weekly programmes combining lessons, sports, cultural activities, excursions and leisure.
You will organise the various camp activities: excursions, themed evenings, events, entertainment and special programmes.
You will also regularly seek new activities and ideas to improve the experience offered to students.
Team coordination
You will take part in the recruitment and integration of seasonal staff.
During the Summer Camp, you will prepare schedules, coordinate teams and actively participate in the daily management of the programme.
You will help create a positive, dynamic and collaborative working atmosphere within a young and international team.
Student supervision
You will ensure the well-being and safety of students during their stay.
In collaboration with the Saint-Charles teams, you will participate in the daily life of the camp and support the young people throughout their experience.
You must be able to react quickly and calmly in case of unforeseen events, problems or situations requiring decision-making.
Communication with families
You will be in contact with families from around the world before and during the Summer Camp.
You will answer their questions, support them during the registration process and ensure professional, warm and personalised communication.
An excellent sense of service and communication is therefore essential.
Admissions and administration
You will participate in monitoring student registrations and files.
You will ensure that the necessary information and documents are complete and up to date and participate in coordinating arrivals and departures.
Logistics
You will coordinate activities, excursions, transport and various Summer Camp service providers.
You will work in collaboration with the school’s various departments: Admissions, Boarding, Academic, Marketing, Catering, Maintenance and Finance.
Budget
You will participate in the preparation and monitoring of the Summer Camp budget and ensure compliance with the budgets defined for the various activities.
Marketing and promotion
In collaboration with the Marketing team, you will participate in promoting the Summer Camp.
You will contribute to the preparation and updating of brochures, presentations and various promotional materials.
As needed, you may also participate in fairs, events, webinars or meetings with international partners and agents to present Saint-Charles and its Summer Camp.
Your skills
We are looking more for a personality and potential than a senior professional background.
This position could particularly suit a recent graduate or someone with some initial professional experience in event management, hospitality, tourism, education, international camps or project management.
To succeed in this role, you should notably:
- Speak fluent French and English
- Be organised, autonomous and proactive
- Enjoy taking responsibility and finding solutions
- Have excellent rapport with young people and adults
- Be comfortable in an international environment
- Have a very good sense of service
- Be able to manage several tasks simultaneously
- Know how to work in a team and coordinate different people
- Be flexible and able to adapt quickly to unforeseen events
- Be comfortable with common IT tools
- Be available to live on campus for the entire duration of the Summer Camp
- Be available some evenings and weekends during the camp period
Previous experience in event organisation, holiday camps, hospitality, tourism, education or customer service is an asset but not essential.
Mastery of a third language is also an advantage.
Benefits
We primarily offer an international and highly versatile professional experience, allowing you to quickly take on responsibilities and develop many skills.
You will join a young, dynamic and international team and work daily with students, families, staff and partners from around the world.
Accommodation, meals and laundry service are fully covered.
This environment allows you to fully experience the Summer Camp while significantly reducing daily expenses during the summer period.
The position also offers:
High autonomy and real responsibilities from the start • An international experience • A young and dynamic working environment • A wide variety of tasks • The possibility to quickly develop skills in management, event planning and project management • Contacts with international families and partners • A unique experience in a Swiss international school
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person ready to invest in a professional experience as rewarding as it is intense.
If you enjoy organising, creating, communicating, working with young people and evolving in an international environment where no two days are the same, we would be delighted to receive your application.
