Insight into our work
The General Secretariat is the central hub of the Department of Justice and Security Basel-Stadt. It comprehensively supports the head of the department in leadership and management tasks and significantly contributes to the implementation of the department’s strategic goals. It is responsible for smooth political business processing as well as internal and external communication. Furthermore, it provides central cross-sectional services in the areas of legal services, finance, personnel, IT, procurement, and facility management, thus supporting the operational areas of the department. The specialist offices "Swisslos Fund" and "Violence Protection and Victim Support" are also located within the General Secretariat.
We cover the larger share of ongoing contributions, offer savings plan options, and possibilities for flexible retirement.
We support our employees with more time for their family and an additional maintenance allowance on top of the family allowance.
Our centrally located sites are easily accessible on foot, by bike, and by public transport.
