Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as overall project manager: architecture / general planning to lead demanding and complex building projects. You will take overall responsibility for the entire planning and construction process and manage projects from design through tendering and realisation to handover. As the central interface, you coordinate clients, architects, specialist planners, experts, authorities, and contractors and bring together the various project interests. The focus is on professional project control, general planning, as well as cost, schedule, and quality assurance while maintaining a high architectural standard.
Responsibilities:
Assuming overall project management and general planning for demanding building projects of various sizes and uses
Managing projects through the relevant SIA planning phases from design to realisation and handover
Leading and coordinating interdisciplinary planning teams from architecture, structural engineering, building services, and other disciplines
Acting as the central contact for clients, authorities, specialist planners, experts, and contractors
Responsibility for costs, schedules, quality, project goals, and resources as well as establishing structured project controlling
Managing and assuring the quality of preliminary design, construction design, approval, and execution planning
Coordinating complex interfaces between architecture, structural engineering, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and other specialist areas
Leading client, planning, and coordination meetings including decision and action item management
Creating and monitoring project schedules, cost forecasts, risk assessments, and management reports
Managing tenders, awards, and planner services as well as supporting projects during the execution phase
Ensuring project execution according to relevant SIA standards, approval procedures, and contractual frameworks
Early identification of project, cost, schedule, and interface risks and developing and implementing appropriate control measures
Qualifications:
Completed studies as architect FH/ETH or comparable university degree
Extensive professional experience as project or overall project manager in building construction, with at least 3 years in Switzerland
Proven experience in general planning and leading interdisciplinary planning teams
Sound knowledge of SIA planning phases, Swiss construction processes, and approval procedures
Experience in cost, schedule, quality, risk, and contract management of complex construction projects
Further training in project management, construction management, or real estate management is an advantage
Very good German language skills; French, Italian, and/or English are advantageous
