Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

Role:
For our Rocken partner, we are looking for a knowledgeable and committed individual to strengthen the finance team. Our partner is an internationally active non-profit organisation committed to social justice, better living conditions, and the preservation of human dignity. The organisation operates both in Switzerland and in various countries worldwide, combining social engagement with professional financial and administrative structures. In this position, you will take on demanding tasks in accounting and actively contribute to the further development of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
You manage the general ledger according to Swiss GAAP FER and the requirements of the Swiss Code of Obligations.
You process and post accruals, valuation issues, provisions and other complex accounting matters.
You ensure the correct and complete recording of subsidiary ledgers, including accounts payable, donation, and asset accounting, and manage the asset accounting.
You prepare the periodic VAT returns and handle withholding tax and deduction tax.
You participate in the consolidation, accounts payable, and revenue recognition processes and coordinate with internal and international specialists.
You contribute to projects for process optimisation, digitalisation, and automation within financial accounting.
You support queries regarding the handling of legacies, preparation and execution of the external audit, and the further development of the internal control system.
Qualifications:
You have a commercial basic education as well as a completed or ongoing professional certificate in finance and accounting or a comparable additional qualification.
You bring several years of professional experience in a comparable role.
You have in-depth knowledge in the VAT area and ideally experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
You are familiar with the accounting treatment of foreign currency issues.
You have fluent German and English skills.
