Network Security Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Networks today are much more than switches and firewalls. We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer who operates complex infrastructure stably, further develops security architectures, and designs modern network platforms across multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
Operation and continuous optimisation of an international network landscape
Responsibility for LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructures across multiple sites
Planning and implementation of modern network architectures with a focus on stability and security
Administration and further development of firewalls, switches, access points, and VPN solutions
Establishment and optimisation of secure site-to-site and remote access connections
Development of network segmentation for classic IT, production, and OT environments
Securing machine communication, production networks, and remote service accesses
Analysis of complex network problems including root cause analysis and sustainable troubleshooting
Monitoring the infrastructure with modern monitoring and observability solutions
Planning and implementation of network modernisations, site connections, and infrastructure projects
Integration of cloud platforms into existing hybrid network architectures
Technical coordination with providers, manufacturers, and external specialists
Documentation of network architectures, standards, and operational processes
Professional exchange and knowledge transfer within the infrastructure team
Qualifications:
Education or further training in computer science, networking, or system engineering
Several years of professional experience in network engineering or infrastructure engineering
Very good knowledge of routing, switching, and TCP/IP
Solid experience with firewalls, VLAN, WLAN, DNS, and DHCP
Practical knowledge of VPN technologies and secure network communication
Understanding of modern network security and segmentation concepts
Ideally experience with OT networks or industrial infrastructures
Knowledge in network monitoring and performance analysis
Experience with hybrid network architectures and cloud connectivity
Independent and solution-oriented working style
Enjoyment of complex infrastructure problems and sustainable technical solutions
