About the job
Data is more than just tables to you - it is the basis for smart decisions and sustainable innovations? Then you are exactly right with us. Together we develop data-driven solutions that actively drive the energy transition and the digital transformation of EKZ - and you play a key role in this. In our compact Data & AI Development Team, you design and operate the central data and AI platform of EKZ. The professional exchange is close, learning from each other is a matter of course, and the collaboration is characterised by openness and curiosity. With your know-how, you help us break down data silos, build robust data pipelines, and develop innovative digital solutions that bring real added value to our specialist departments. You can expect an innovative environment with plenty of scope for design, modern technologies, and varied projects with visible impact. Sounds like your next step? Then we look forward to your application! We do not require a cover letter.
What to expect
- An interdisciplinary team of data, software and ML engineers.
- A modern cloud-native data & ML infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Scope for development in advancing our platform and tools as well as technical co-responsibility for architectural decisions, platform standards and best practices.
- Building and further developing a central data platform to enable self-service BI as well as supporting the specialist departments in development by providing and maintaining templates and architectural guardrails.
- Responsibility for the stable operation of the data platform including monitoring, incident management and continuous improvement (during working hours, no on-call).
- Modern tools and methods in projects where code quality, reusability and maintainability count as much as business impact and efficiency.
What you bring
- Several years of professional experience in the data field, ideally as a software or data engineer.
- Deep technical understanding and confident productive use of Python, PySpark, set-based transformations and SQL as well as a solid software engineering understanding.
- Routine in designing, implementing and operating data pipelines for BI and ML applications.
- Experience or strong interest in building and operating cloud-based data and AI platforms.
- Experience with business continuity & disaster recovery, secure code development and implementing security, governance and compliance requirements in data platforms is an advantage.
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written.
- Initiative, willingness to shape and enthusiasm to drive things forward.
