The working style is characterised by reliability, precision, and the will to develop better solutions every day. Role:
You have the opportunity to shape the future of digital payments and drive technological transformations. In this role, you take responsibility for translating complex business requirements into sustainable, highly secure, and state-of-the-art IT solutions. You work closely with expert architects, internal specialists, product and engineering teams to develop innovative payment products and drive the strategic evolution of payment processing and risk management platforms. You advise and lead critical architecture initiatives, acting as a bridge between technical platform strategies and the target operating model. You are responsible for designing, building, and continuously improving IT solutions that meet tomorrow’s requirements.
Responsibilities:
You shape the technological direction of a complex financial platform and develop a modular, long-term viable system landscape from historically grown structures.
You create the conditions for sustainable technology development by coordinating technical guardrails, collaboration models, and implementation strategies with the relevant teams.
You design powerful connections between payment services, partner solutions, and internal business systems, ensuring reliable information exchange even with high transaction volumes.
You embed intelligent fraud prevention and risk-based protection mechanisms in the platform and ensure that security requirements are considered already in the technical conception.
You promote loosely coupled software solutions, establish automated architecture reviews, and create a comprehensible basis for technical decisions, dependencies, and future investments.
Qualifications:
You have completed a university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
You have many years of experience designing sophisticated software landscapes and have successfully transformed large applications into smaller, independently developable components.
You understand the technical and professional specifics of digital financial services and ideally know card payments, merchant integrations, or payment transaction processes.
You master modern architectural approaches such as domain-driven design, gRPC, GraphQL, and service-based systems. Experience with Apache Pulsar, NATS, Redis Streams, or cloud-native platforms is welcome.
You think across systems, assess technical risks thoroughly, and bring security principles such as Zero Trust, STRIDE-based threat analyses, and automated policy checks into practice. You are proficient in German and English; knowledge of Italian is an additional advantage.
Benefits:
- Participation in health measures: Accident insurance with worldwide coverage on a private basis. Contributions for occupational/non-occupational accident insurance are fully covered
- Attractive benefits in case of illness or accident: Continued salary payment in case of illness or accident depending on length of employment up to two years
- Canteen, meal allowances and discounts: Meal allowance for all permanent employees (pro rata for part-time employees)
- Flexible working hours: For most functions, we offer flexible working hours
- Numerous employee events: Team events, the summer party and our popular Christmas party offer the opportunity to get to know colleagues outside of work
- Above-average holidays and days off: Holidays: at least 25 days per year, possibility to take unpaid leave
- Participation or coverage of public transport subscriptions: Cost contribution for public transport subscriptions
- Comfortable office with modern infrastructure: In addition to flexible workplaces, we rely on a zone concept: employees have access to different work zones depending on their needs for focused work, cross-team meetings or informal exchange.
- Open corporate culture: Open and straightforward culture
