Role:
In this role, you develop and optimise software solutions for efficient scheduling and resource utilisation, ensuring smooth operations. You take on the analysis of complex requirements, design suitable algorithms, and implement them in robust, high-performance applications. You are responsible for the continuous development of existing functions, identify optimisation potentials, and contribute your own ideas for new features. You work closely with various stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Additionally, you ensure the long-term quality and maintainability of the software through clean, well-tested code and clear documentation.
Responsibilities:
- You design and develop modern scheduling and optimisation algorithms in .NET/C# and Python for our laboratory robotics platform.
- In this role, you evaluate and implement optimisation and heuristic methods and validate them on the robot under real-time and reliability requirements, including prototyping, profiling, and performance tuning.
- You extend and maintain our scheduling components, the underlying architecture, and the associated scripting language.
- In this role, you contribute to the seamless integration of our robots into customer and partner systems worldwide.
- You comply with ISO 13485 and relevant medical device standards to ensure the highest quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- You hold a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Engineering, Technical Mathematics, or a related field.
- You have solid practical experience in optimisation and algorithms in operations research, especially in constraint programming and mixed integer programming.
- You are well versed in software architecture, object-oriented programming, and clean code, placing great value on high software quality.
- You are proficient in Python with scientific libraries such as NumPy and Pandas and ideally have experience with .NET and C#.
- You have worked with CP-SAT solvers like Google OR-Tools or comparable technologies.
- You communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written, and enthusiastically work in interdisciplinary teams on mechatronic systems for analytical chemistry.
