Construction Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional for project management in building construction with a focus on construction execution, construction management, and general contracting (GC). You will independently manage demanding construction projects and be responsible for meeting the agreed cost, schedule, and quality targets. The focus is on coordinating all contractor services, tendering and awarding management, construction cost controlling with PROVIS, as well as monitoring execution planning and construction quality. The position offers a responsible role with a high degree of independence and the opportunity to successfully lead complex building construction projects from tendering to the completion of warranty work.

Responsibilities:

• Independent project management and construction execution coordination for demanding building construction projects in the context of general contracting

• Creation and monitoring of detailed construction and scheduling programmes with control of key project milestones and initiation of appropriate measures in case of deviations

• Construction cost controlling and budget monitoring with PROVIS including ongoing cost control, forecasts, and evaluation of project-relevant financial key figures

• Tendering and execution of contractor submissions including preparation of specifications, evaluation of offers, and preparation of awarding decisions

• Management and coordination of all contractor services with coordination of trades and ensuring efficient site operations

• Quality assurance according to QM guidelines and project manual with verification of agreed execution standards and technical requirements

• On-site control of execution planning with checking the consistency between planning documents, structural details, and actual construction execution

• Preparation and verification of quantities and contractor invoices including control of performance records, change orders, and final invoices

• Leading construction and contractor meetings with coordination of project participants, minute-taking, and monitoring of agreed measures

• Organisation and execution of construction handovers with inspection of completed work, recording of defects, and monitoring of defect rectification

• Planning and management of warranty work with coordination of responsible contractors and ensuring professional execution

• Communication with clients, specialist planners, and contractors with clarification of technical, economic, and organisational issues throughout the project realisation

Qualifications:

• Completed basic construction training, for example as a draughtsman EFZ specialising in architecture, with further training as a federally certified building manager in building construction, technician HF/TS in building construction, or a comparable qualification

• Several years of professional experience in Swiss construction project management, ideally with solid experience in project execution in general contracting

• Comprehensive knowledge in cost, schedule, and quality management as well as experience with tenders, contractor awards, construction billing, and warranty work

• Confident handling of PROVIS and common construction administration software as well as very good user skills in Microsoft Office

• Strong entrepreneurial thinking and acting with economic understanding, cost awareness, and high sense of responsibility

• Strong leadership, assertive and resilient personality with negotiation skills, teamwork, and a structured, independent working style

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as a professional, engaging manner in dealing with clients, contractors, and other project participants
