About the job
Our Migration & Integration Department for French-speaking Switzerland – a branch of Caritas Switzerland in Fribourg employing around one hundred staff – is responsible for supporting and integrating recognised refugees in the canton of Fribourg. Under a cantonal mandate, we welcome new arrivals in our home in Matran, assist them in finding their own accommodation, provide personal and material aid according to social welfare standards, and support them in their steps towards professional and social integration. Additionally, we manage a community interpreting service active in several French-speaking cantons as well as a listening and counselling service against racism for residents of the canton of Fribourg.
- related to the department in terms of finance and accounting, as well as apprentices in commercial professions. Budget management, controlling and monitoring are also part of the service’s tasks.
- related to social welfare beneficiaries in terms of finance and accounting, administrative tasks linked to finance, specific tasks, as well as litigation, statistics and financial controlling.

Finance & Administration Officer 60% (m/f/d)
Your tasks
- Ensure the opening, creation and updating of files (beneficiaries, partners, objects, etc.).
- Establish basic budgets during status changes or changes in standards, as well as calculations of supplementary aid and retroactive recalculations.
- Check, scan, account for and ensure payment of invoices.
- Manage EL accounts (payments, fund releases, accounting, transfers, corrective entries and administrative follow-up).
- Update administrative data and billing accounts ensuring their accuracy.
- Ensure the reliability and consistency of data by performing regular checks and using dedicated verification tools (Symic, FriPers).
- Produce and check lists of expense types, reports, dashboards and statistics necessary for service management and leadership.
- Process requests received via the service’s various mailboxes and ensure their follow-up.
- Manage tax declarations of beneficiaries supported by the department.
- Manage scholarship applications and liaise with the Training Subsidies Service.
- Establish birth checklists and carry out periodic transmissions to SASoc.
- Participate, as needed by the service, in reception cover by welcoming beneficiaries, managing mail, sorting, scanning, filing and back-office activities.
- Actively participate in the integration and training of new colleagues.
- Support the apprentice daily in learning operational activities.
- Write, update and optimise work procedures to contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Collaborate closely with various internal services and contribute to the quality, efficiency and continuous improvement of the service’s offerings.
Our requirements
- Holder of a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a commercial employee or an administrative qualification deemed equivalent.
- You have proven experience in financial management or accounting.
- You have excellent command of common office tools, especially Excel at an advanced level.
- You demonstrate excellent organisational skills, autonomy, rigour and a strong sense of responsibility.
- You enjoy teamwork, maintain quality relationships with your contacts and collaborate effectively in an environment where activities are interdependent.
- Knowledge of the Swiss tax system or experience in the tax field is an asset.
- You have excellent command of French, both spoken and written, and possess strong writing skills. Knowledge of German and/or English is an asset.
Starting date: 1 November 26 or by agreement.
