Tasks
Area of responsibility: You will take on a cross-sectional role between the "Energy in the Economy" sector of the Office for Environment and Energy and the location promotion in the "Environment" sector of the Office for Economy and Labour.
Location promotion Environment sector: You review funding applications, answer questions and advise applicants. To ensure quality, you conduct spot checks at companies. In addition, you contribute your expertise to the further development and improvement of the funding model.
Enforcement Energy in the Economy: Commercial and industrial companies are subject to the requirements for large consumers, the obligation for energy optimisation of operations, or the proof obligation for electricity procurement. You support the specialist team in these areas.
Profile
Experience: You have sound expertise in the field of industrial energy efficiency as well as renewable energies and have gained experience in the decarbonisation of industrial processes. In addition, you possess basic knowledge in climate reporting. A quick grasp and good verbal and written communication skills complete your profile.
Personality: Climate protection and energy efficiency are close to your heart; you are solution-oriented and at the same time consistent. With your open manner, you convince contacts and communicate factually, eloquently and appropriately for the audience.
Education: Technical basic education (higher technical school or university of applied sciences), further training in the field of energy efficiency and/or HVAC, knowledge in the field of decarbonisation.
Language: For collaboration with local and international companies:
German (C2) and English (at least B2) spoken and written.

The Office for Environment and Energy belongs to the Department of Economy, Social Affairs and Environment of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and is responsible for the enforcement of national and cantonal laws in the field of environment and energy. Around 100 employees are committed to water protection, waste avoidance, protection against emissions, environmental analytics, energy-efficient construction and proper handling of contaminated sites. In this way, the office supports an environmentally friendly development of the Canton of Basel-Stadt. The economy and the population benefit from these services.
