For our client, an internationally active Swiss mechanical engineering company in the Biel/Bienne / Seeland area, we are looking for a technically skilled, independent and solution-oriented individual as a Mechanical Design Engineer / Development 80-100% (m/f).
The company develops and realises highly precise machines and customised system solutions for demanding industrial applications. You can expect an innovative engineering environment where technical ideas are implemented from the initial solution finding to the finished machine.
- Design and further development of assemblies, components and machines
- Creation and processing of 3D CAD models, drawings and manufacturing documents
- Technical design and constructive optimisation of existing solutions
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Participation in risk analyses and constructive safety assessments
- Technical clarifications with internal departments, suppliers and project managers
- Accompanying projects from design to implementation
- Support in the continuous improvement of existing machines and assemblies
- Further training as a technician HF or a technical university of applied sciences degree is an advantage
- Professional experience in design or development in mechanical engineering
- Good knowledge of a 3D CAD system, ideally Solid Edge
- Good understanding of mechanical designs, manufacturing processes and technical contexts
- Ability to translate customised requirements into practical technical solutions
- Independent, structured and responsible working style
- Solution-oriented personality with enthusiasm for technical challenges
- Good knowledge of German
- Good oral and written English skills
You work on demanding machines and assemblies, contribute your own ideas and accompany constructive solutions from the initial concept phase to technical implementation. In doing so, you work closely with various departments and gain direct insight into the entire creation process of a machine.

- Completed technical vocational training EFZ, for example as a designer, polymechanic or in a comparable technical profession- Further training as a technician HF or a technical university of applied sciences degree is an advantage

- Good understanding of mechanical designs, manufacturing processes and technical contexts
