Role:

On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager Construction & Infrastructure for the development and implementation of modern work, learning, and specialised spaces in a demanding institutional environment. You will manage construction and infrastructure projects through the SIA phases and represent the interests of the user organisation vis-à-vis planning, operations, and external project partners. The focus is on workplace, learning space, and laboratory projects as well as the development of usage concepts, room programmes, and functional layouts. In doing so, you combine user needs with functionality, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and long-term property management.

Responsibilities:

• Management of construction, conversion, and infrastructure projects through the relevant SIA phases

• Representation of user interests and support of projects within the framework of planning- and construction-accompanying facility management (PbFM)

• Responsibility for compliance with cost, schedule, and quality targets

• Conducting needs analyses and user workshops with internal organisational units

• Development of usage concepts, room programmes, and functional layouts

• Planning and support of modern workplace, learning space, and laboratory environments

• Preparation of feasibility studies, variant assessments, and decision-making bases

• Coordination of architecture, specialist planning, facility management, authorities, operators, and user groups

• Ensuring effective interface and stakeholder management

• Consulting internal departments on space requirements, space utilisation, and infrastructural needs

• Management of larger equipment, furnishing, and relocation projects including budget monitoring

• Participation in the further development of FM, workplace, and project standards as well as structured management of project documentation

Qualifications:

• University degree FH/University in facility management, architecture, interior architecture, real estate management, or a comparable field

• Several years of experience in construction, real estate, or facility management with own project responsibility

• Sound knowledge of the SIA phases and Swiss construction and planning processes

• Experience in conversion, workplace, space, or infrastructure projects; laboratory projects are an advantage

• Knowledge of user representation, PbFM, space programming, or workplace management is an advantage

• Confident use of common project management and office applications

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form

• Flexible working hours: At ZHAW, the working time is 42 hours per week for a 100% workload. For part-time employees, it is based on the agreed employment level. It is generally distributed over 5 days, with Saturday and Sunday off. Due to school operations on Saturdays, some staff must also work on Saturdays. A positive working time balance can be compensated hourly or by taking days off.
