Senior Interior Architect (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced individual for project management of demanding interior architecture and interior design projects starting January 2027. You will develop individual spatial and design concepts for hospitality, gastronomy, and retail and independently oversee these from the initial idea to final implementation. The focus is on creative conception, technical planning with Vectorworks, and professional coordination of clients, specialist planners, and executing companies. The position combines high-quality interior architecture, entrepreneurial project management, and creative leadership responsibility with the long-term prospect of leading an interior team and taking on additional strategic responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Independent management of demanding interior architecture and interior design projects with a focus on hospitality, gastronomy, and retail

• Development of individual spatial, usage, and design concepts considering brand identity, atmosphere, functionality, and cost-effectiveness

• Responsibility for the entire project execution from concept development through planning and tendering to realisation and handover

• Creation of high-quality material, colour, lighting, and furnishing concepts for commercial and public interiors

• Preparation of draft, approval, execution, and detail plans with Vectorworks including constructive elaboration of complex interior fittings

• Development and preparation of 3D models, renderings, and presentation materials to convincingly communicate design concepts

• Planning and coordination of individual interior fittings, installations, and furnishing solutions in collaboration with producers, suppliers, and specialised craft businesses

• Responsibility for tenders, offer comparisons, and award preparations including the creation of specifications and technical descriptions

• Coordination and support of building permit and approval procedures as well as liaison with authorities and responsible specialist offices

• Management of cost, schedule, and quality control as well as supervision of execution and ensuring a high-quality design implementation

• Leadership of interdisciplinary project teams and support of clients including leading project meetings and coordinating external specialist planners

• Active development of customer relationships and industry networks as well as prospective assumption of leadership and development tasks within the interior team

Qualifications:

• Completed studies in interior architecture or architecture FH/ETH or an equivalent higher design or construction-related qualification

• Five to ten years of professional experience in interior architecture or architecture, ideally with independent project responsibility for hospitality, gastronomy, and retail projects

• Extensive experience across all relevant planning and realisation phases including conception, execution planning, tendering, awarding, and construction supervision

• Very good user knowledge of Vectorworks as well as confident handling of 3D modelling, rendering software, and Adobe Creative Cloud

• Knowledge of Swiss building and approval procedures, relevant SIA standards, and technical requirements for commercial interior fittings

• Existing network in the architecture, interior, hospitality, or design industry as well as strong skills in customer consulting, project management, and collaboration with producers and craft businesses

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for project management, client communication, and authority coordination as well as pronounced design competence, initiative, and interest in a long-term leadership role
