Cloud Platform Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
Not a classic cloud administration role: Develop an Azure platform that combines security, automation and scalability.
Modern cloud environments require clear standards, automated processes and consistent security concepts. We are looking for a cloud engineer who understands technical platforms as a product and further develops Azure infrastructures with Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps and modern governance models.
Responsibilities:
Engineering a standardised and scalable Azure platform
Building and optimising landing zone structures and cloud subscriptions
Developing secure network architectures for hybrid and cloud-native workloads
Implementing central platform components such as DNS, private endpoints and key vaults
Developing consistent cloud governance through policies and technical standards
Securing cloud resources according to modern zero-trust principles
Further developing identity, privilege and access management
Automating infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep and PowerShell
Building reusable infrastructure-as-code modules
Integrating automated security and compliance checks into CI/CD processes
Developing observability concepts with monitoring, logging and intelligent alerting
Analysing platform issues including root cause analysis and technical remediation
Developing strategies for resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity
Optimising cloud resources in terms of cost, performance and availability
Supporting cloud migrations and technical transformation projects
Advising development and application teams on using the Azure platform
Building and further developing technical standards and cloud best practices
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering or cloud operations
Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure
Experience in building and operating standardised cloud platforms
Solid knowledge of Azure security, identity and governance
Very good practical knowledge of Terraform and/or Bicep
Experience with automated infrastructure and CI/CD
Understanding of Azure networking, DNS, private endpoints and secure platform architectures
Experience with monitoring, logging and cloud observability
Ideally knowledge of DevSecOps and zero-trust architectures
Ability to translate complex technical requirements into robust platform solutions
Strong quality awareness and high personal responsibility
Enjoyment in replacing manual processes with intelligent automation
Interest in new Azure services and continuous technological development
