Your Tasks
Increase the canton’s security: In this role, you take on operational and engineering tasks within the cantonal cyber security infrastructure focusing on firewall, WAF, proxy, SASE (ZTNA, SWG, CASB), DDI, remote access solutions and cloud integrations.
Exciting projects in the cyber security domain: As part of our Security Engineering team, you develop and optimise new solutions together with our customers, are responsible for their continuous development and ensure stable operation together with our partners.
Ensure service operations: Participation in the rotating operational responsibility (incident, change and problem management) as well as on-call and special deployments are also part of your duties and are ensured in close collegial cooperation within the team.
Make security services future-proof: You actively shape security architectures, standards and operating models, ensure high quality and service standards and continuously develop stable and future-proof security services for the cantonal infrastructure.
Expand knowledge purposefully: We specifically support your development potential and promote your further training. For this, you bring an interest in new technologies as well as the willingness to continuously engage with further security topics and actively expand your knowledge.
Your Profile
Experience: You have solid experience in engineering and operating firewall, WAF, proxy, SASE, DDI, remote access and cloud integrations. In solution engineering, you develop tailored and customer-oriented solutions.
Personality: You work independently, structured and customer-oriented. With analytical thinking, solution-oriented working methods and enjoyment in knowledge exchange within the team, you confidently find suitable answers.
Education: You have a higher IT qualification or a basic IT education with solid practical experience. Relevant security certifications underline your current and practice-oriented expertise.
Language: You communicate factually and appropriately in German and have good English skills. You apply the technical terminology of cyber and information security confidently and purposefully.
Insight into our work
IT BS is the internal IT service provider of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and belongs to the Finance Department. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workplaces and the associated support. Additionally, IT BS continuously develops various offerings for the public in the area of eGovernment and digitalisation. A functioning IT is central to the efficient operation of the cantonal administration.
