Project Manager Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced professional for the client-side project management of demanding building construction projects in the public sector. You will manage significant construction projects holistically across all project phases and take responsibility for quality, costs, deadlines and project objectives. In doing so, you lead and coordinate external planning and specialist teams, contractors and other stakeholders, creating transparent decision-making bases for the client. Professional project controlling and reporting form the basis for structured and economical project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Assuming client-side project management of building construction projects across all relevant SIA phases

• Planning, controlling and monitoring demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects

• Responsibility for cost, schedule, quality and performance management

• Leading and coordinating architects, specialist planners, experts and contractors

• Establishing and maintaining project budgets, schedules, cost forecasts and project metrics

• Conducting structured project controlling and risk management

• Preparing project status reports, decision-making bases and management reporting

• Preparing and supporting tenders, planner and contractor awards

• Leading project, client and coordination meetings

• Coordinating interfaces between client, users, authorities, planners and contractors

• Ensuring comprehensible project, contract and construction documentation

• Supporting acceptances, commissioning, defect management and project closures

Qualifications:

• University degree in construction, for example as ETH/FH architect or ETH/FH civil engineer

• Several years of professional experience in project management of complex building construction projects in the Swiss market

• Experience in client representation or in the public/institutional construction environment is an advantage

• Sound knowledge of Swiss construction processes, SIA standards and relevant guidelines

• Experience in cost, schedule, quality, risk and project controlling

• Knowledge of tendering, awarding and contract management is an advantage

• Very good German language skills spoken and written
