Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Secure systems do not happen by chance. You want to make complex IT infrastructures more resilient, consistently close security gaps, and put modern hardening standards into practice? In this role, you combine system engineering with cyber security and actively shape the protection of business-critical IT systems.
Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of robust security baselines for Windows and Linux servers
Application and further development of CIS Benchmarks as well as risk-based hardening standards
Automation of security configurations with Ansible, PowerShell and Infrastructure as Code
Verification of system configurations through compliance scans and automated security assessments
Analysis of security alerts, investigation of technical anomalies, and coordination of appropriate countermeasures
Sustainable remediation of vulnerabilities in collaboration with system engineering and information security
Establishment of standardised operational processes, technical runbooks, and traceable change procedures
Further development of monitoring, logging, and alerting for security-critical systems
Implementation of security and compliance requirements including technical documentation and evidence provision
Creation and maintenance of information security and data protection concepts (ISDS)
Support during audits, risk assessments, and review of access concepts
Continuous improvement of operational quality, automation, and security operations
Qualifications:
Completed IT training EFZ or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience in system engineering, security engineering or operation of complex IT infrastructures
Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux
Experience with PowerShell, Group Policies, and central configuration management
Experience with Ansible, OpenSCAP or comparable tools for configuration management and compliance checks
Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and established hardening methods
Sound understanding of vulnerability management, access protection, data protection, and information classification
Ability to translate technical security requirements into concrete measures
Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
Strong communication skills and enjoyment in collaborating with different departments
Willingness to continuously expand technical knowledge and acquire additional certifications
