Construction Manager Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced and committed professional for the independent construction management of demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects in building construction. You will take responsibility for the proper realisation of diverse construction projects and accompany them from planning through execution to commissioning. The focus is on coordinating all project participants, cost, schedule and quality management, as well as the assessment and repair of existing buildings. The position combines classic building construction management, sound structural expertise and practical experience with condition assessments and building investigations in an interdisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

• Independent construction management of demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects in building construction from execution preparation to handover

• Organisation, coordination and supervision of all construction processes taking into account technical, economic and scheduling project requirements

• Leadership and coordination of the involved clients, specialist planners, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution

• Responsibility for cost, schedule and quality management including budget monitoring, construction programmes and ongoing control of construction progress

• Preparation of tender documents and specifications as well as conducting tenders, comparing offers and preparing award decisions

• Supervision of construction execution and conducting regular quality and execution checks in compliance with relevant SIA standards and technical regulations

• Planning, execution and documentation of condition assessments and building investigations on existing buildings and load-bearing structures

• Participation in the technical assessment of existing buildings including analysis of damage, structural weaknesses and repair requirements

• Development and evaluation of renovation and repair solutions in close cooperation with civil engineers, architects and other specialists

• Organisation and leadership of construction and coordination meetings including minute-taking, task distribution and follow-up of agreed measures

• Verification of contractor invoices, claims, measurements and construction accounts as well as management of relevant construction administration with digital project management tools

• Accompanying construction projects through to commissioning and handover including inspections, defect management, final accounts and project documentation

Qualifications:

• Completed training as a construction manager building construction, certified technician HF construction planning/construction management, civil engineer FH/ETH or architect FH/ETH or a comparable construction-technical qualification

• Several years of professional experience in construction management of new build, conversion or renovation projects with solid practice in tendering, awarding, execution control and construction accounting

• Good knowledge of Swiss construction processes and relevant SIA standards, especially SIA 118, as well as sound understanding of building constructions, construction processes and economic contexts

• Experience with conversions, renovations and existing buildings as well as interest in condition assessments, building investigations and the development of structural repair solutions

• Good user knowledge of construction administration software, preferably Messerli, as well as confident handling of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and digital collaboration platforms; openness to AI-supported applications such as Copilot

• Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style with strong organisational skills, initiative, sense of responsibility and technical judgement

• Good German language skills in spoken and written form for construction management and project documentation as well as confident appearance, communication skills and enjoyment in working with clients, specialist planners and contractors
