Role:
As a Security Infrastructure Engineer, you stand at the interface between technology and defence. Your field of work is managed security services for different customer environments. You take care of firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and log analysis. No day is the same because every infrastructure brings its own challenges. Those who enjoy analysing and implementing solutions directly will find a varied task here.
Responsibilities:
You configure security components such as firewalls, WAF, XDR, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) and operate them reliably.
You keep an eye on security events and alerts, analyse them technically, and classify them correctly.
Additionally, you participate in security incidents, from analysis to initiating effective countermeasures.
You further develop existing SIEM and log management environments and evaluate logs from various systems.
Furthermore, you conduct vulnerability scans, assess the results, and contribute to rollouts, changes, and security projects at customers.
You also evaluate new technologies in proofs of concept and keep technical documentation up to date.
Qualifications:
You have at least 3 years of experience in cyber security engineering or security operations.
You are familiar with network, cloud, endpoint, and system security, as well as securing Windows and Linux environments.
You bring experience with enterprise and cloud firewalls, web application firewalls, as well as EDR, XDR, or NDR solutions.
Furthermore, you confidently correlate security events across different log sources and maintain an overview even during incidents.
You understand protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, and TLS as well as role-based access concepts and identity security.
You are also familiar with vulnerability management and automate routines with Python or Bash.
