Fire Protection Expert or Specialist

About the job

The Cantonal Insurance and Prevention Establishment, an autonomous public law institution, wishes to strengthen its team of specialists by hiring a fire protection expert or specialist.

Joining our Prevention sector means actively contributing to reducing risks and protecting people and property in the canton of Neuchâtel. As a specialist or expert, you will be involved in fire prevention, advice, inspection, training, and support for construction professionals and municipalities.

Your responsibilities

• analyse and process building permit files from the perspective of fire protection
• examine and verify the compliance of concepts, plans, and supporting documents with current regulations
• handle technical files related to subsidies for fire prevention
• conduct site visits, inspections, and receptions, and analyse particular or complex situations
• advise and support municipalities, owners, architects, engineers, planners, and companies
• prepare and deliver training sessions, information meetings, and presentations related to fire prevention

To successfully carry out your duties, you have the following assets:

• federal diploma as an expert or federal certificate as a fire protection specialist (or equivalent training), with good knowledge of AEAI regulations and the applicable legal framework
• excellent ability to read and analyse plans, as well as solid constructive and technical knowledge of buildings
• good writing skills, excellent command of French, and ease with professional IT tools
• autonomy, rigour, and analytical mindset, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
• strong interpersonal skills and a taste for teamwork, including public speaking and training facilitation
• interest in the evolution of techniques and regulations with a willingness to pursue continuous training

Special conditions

The position involves regular travel within the canton for visits, inspections, and external sessions; possession of a driving licence is required. Proficiency in German is an additional asset.
