About the job
The Cantonal Insurance and Prevention Institution, an autonomous public law entity, wishes to strengthen its team of specialists by hiring a technical-administrative officer in fire prevention and natural hazards.
Within our Prevention sector, you will contribute to the protection of people and property against fire risks and natural hazards in the Canton of Neuchâtel. You will support the experts in the administrative and technical handling of various files and will be in contact with municipalities, agents, companies, and property owners.
Your responsibilities
- ensure the administrative and documentary follow-up of fire prevention, natural hazard protection, and subsidy files
- prepare, write, and format letters, minutes, tables, presentations, and other documents
- read and understand plans, technical sheets, and documents related to buildings
- participate in activities in collaboration with the sector experts and maintain regular contact with our partners
To successfully carry out your duties, you have the following assets:
- an administrative and/or technical education with at least 2 years of experience in a building-related environment
- good understanding of technical terms and skills in reading plans
- very good command of common digital tools and excellent level of French, especially in writing
- ability to research, understand, and synthesise technical or regulatory information, with curiosity and eagerness to learn
- autonomy, rigour, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise
- good interpersonal skills, team spirit, and public service orientation
- interest in prevention in a broad sense and availability for regular training
Basic knowledge in fire prevention, natural hazards, or the building sector as well as knowledge of German are a plus. Training opportunities will be offered with a view to federal certification in fire prevention.
