Head of the School and Extracurricular Sports Sector at 80%

at the Department of Childhood, Schools and Social Cohesion

Your responsibilities

• Ensure the planning, organisation and management of school and extracurricular sports in the City of Fribourg, respecting legal bases, available resources and the needs of educational institutions
• Guarantee a coherent, accessible and quality sports offer in line with the childhood and youth strategy and develop sports activities for pupils from grades 1 to 8
• Plan physical education schedules and coordinate the allocation and booking of sports facilities while ensuring coordination with school management
• Supervise a team of around twenty physical education teachers and lead team projects
• Define educational guidelines and act as a point of reference for teaching staff as well as physical education teachers
• Ensure close and cross-sector collaboration with other departments of the service, municipal services, school management and external partners to guarantee the coherence of actions taken for children and young people.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in sports science, teaching option or equivalent qualification, possibly supplemented by a master’s degree in a related field
• Proven experience with children and adolescents in the field of sports education
• Experience in personnel management
• High sense of responsibility, strategic thinking and action, client orientation
• Ability to operate in a multidisciplinary environment and to understand the issues for all stakeholders
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in French or German and excellent knowledge of the other language
