You don’t just want to operate infrastructure, but to technically shape modern private cloud platforms? In this role, you design highly available virtualisation environments, automate complex infrastructure processes and take responsibility for a central platform in the enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, build and continuously develop highly available virtualisation platforms
Technical responsibility for the entire infrastructure stack – from hardware and storage to the guest operating system
Further development of a modern private cloud architecture with a focus on stability, security and scalability
Support and optimisation of Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation and NSX
Design and further development of server and client virtualisation
Responsibility for the lifecycle of the virtualisation platforms
Planning and implementation of platform upgrades, migrations and technical modernisations
Integration of compute, storage, network and authentication components
Establishment of standardised and automated operational processes
Use of infrastructure as code and automation with Terraform or Ansible
Analysis of complex performance and infrastructure issues
Conducting capacity analyses and developing sustainable optimisation measures
Collaboration with specialists from network, security, storage and other infrastructure disciplines
Technical documentation of architectures, configurations and operational processes
Qualifications:
Several years of experience in engineering and operating complex IT infrastructures
Sound knowledge of VMware or Broadcom Cloud Foundation
Experience with VMware NSX and modern virtualisation concepts
Good knowledge in the area of storage, for example vSAN, SAN/FC, block storage, file services or S3
Experience with Cisco Intersight is an advantage
Practical experience in infrastructure as code and automation, for example with Terraform or Ansible
Strong understanding of IT security and highly available platform architectures
Analytical thinking and enjoyment of challenging technical problems
Very good German skills and good English skills
Willingness to build deep expertise in a technically demanding regulated environment over the long term
