About the job
ZEM CES is a specialised agency of the Conference of Cantonal Directors of Public Education (CDIP). ZEM CES supports the authorities in implementing their educational policy objectives and in managing the upper secondary education system, particularly in matters related to the development of grammar schools and general education schools as well as the transition to higher education institutions. On behalf of the cantons and upper secondary schools, ZEM CES conducts external evaluations of schools and surveys. The institution promotes exchanges among actors in general upper secondary education through appropriate information channels and events.
We are looking, for 1 January 2027 or by agreement,
a scientific collaborator (80%)
Your tasks
- Management of complex projects related to strategically important topics in the field of upper secondary education
- Organisation of online and face-to-face events around these topics
- Conducting research, including report writing (including monitoring translations of reports into the national languages)
- Editorial management of the ZEM CES Contributions publication series for upper secondary education
- Establishing and maintaining institutional cooperation at the Swiss level
- Producing content for the various communication channels of ZEM CES
- Representing ZEM CES within the network and with various bodies
Your profile
Expertise and professional competence:
- University degree at Master’s level: MA, MSc or Phil. I or Phil. II licence
Having successfully practised your profession for several years, you have:
- knowledge of the Swiss education system, particularly upper secondary education
- experience of the functioning of intercantonal cooperation in education
- an affinity with political and administrative processes
- experience in developing solutions in complex work environments and in cooperation with various interest groups
- your own network in the field of education at the intercantonal level
Skills
- Native French speaker, very good knowledge of German (activities take place in a bilingual work context); knowledge of Italian is an additional asset
- Excellent management of complex projects: design, planning and implementation
- Management and facilitation of internal and external meetings
- Conducting data-based research and preparing ad hoc reports
- Proven writing skills
- Enjoy working in a team and negotiation skills
- Ability to quickly familiarise yourself with a new subject
