DESIGN ARCHITECT (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced design architect to handle demanding architectural competitions and feasibility studies in the Zurich region. You will independently develop urban and architectural concepts and carry them through from the initial solution approach to the precise competition submission. The focus areas include residential construction, sustainable architecture, re-use and building refurbishment as well as developing convincing solutions for new build and revitalisation projects. The position combines conceptual architectural design with ArchiCAD, 3D planning and high-quality competition presentation.

Responsibilities:

• Independent handling of demanding architectural competitions and study commissions

• Development of urban, architectural and spatial concepts for new build and existing projects

• Preparation of feasibility, potential and variant studies as a basis for project developments

• Conceptualisation and further development of innovative residential and usage concepts

• Development of strategies for re-use, building refurbishment and revitalisation

• Integration of sustainability, resource efficiency and preservation of existing structures into the architectural design process

• Processing and further development of 3D models and design plans with ArchiCAD

• Development of floor plan, façade, volume and material concepts

• Creation of high-quality competition plans, presentations, diagrams and decision-making bases

• Review of designs regarding building law, usage, economic viability and technical feasibility

• Coordination of relevant contributions from specialist planners and experts within competition and study procedures

• Further development of successful competition designs into the preliminary and project planning phases

Qualifications:

• Completed Master's degree in Architecture ETH/FH or comparable university degree

• Several years of professional experience in competition design in Switzerland

• Sound knowledge in design, urban planning and residential construction

• Very good user skills in ArchiCAD and 3D architectural planning

• Experience with feasibility studies, re-use, building refurbishment and sustainable architectural concepts

• Knowledge of relevant Swiss planning and building regulations

• Very good German language skills spoken and written
