Specialised Clinical Nurse 80% Permanent Contract
Introduced in Switzerland since 2009, advanced nursing practice continues to develop. The amendment to the health law that came into force in October 2020 in Geneva now authorises advanced practices under certain conditions. As a health, care and home support institution, IMAD is strongly committed to strengthening continuity of care, efficiency of management and supporting staff skills development; two central axes of the institutional strategy.
To this end, IMAD is seeking a specialised clinical nurse (SCN) focused on home health to strengthen its team within the Interprofessional Practice Centre (CPI, under operations management), who will contribute to the implementation of advanced nursing practice within the institution.
Your missions and responsibilities
As an SCN, you will play a key role in transforming home care by contributing to the continuous improvement of care quality and safety. Your mission will be part of a collaborative approach, centred on the patient as a full partner.
Your main responsibilities:
- Support the institutional mission aiming to maintain patients at home in a stimulating, safe environment respectful of patient preferences.
- Initiate, coordinate and support clinical interventions related to the SCN role with care teams and according to patient needs.
- Assess complex care situations and intervene based on evidence.
- Participate in interdisciplinary clinical decisions during transitions, in collaboration with care managers and partners, to develop individualised care pathways integrating clinical assessment, therapeutic education and professional support, etc.
- Actively contribute to the implementation phase of advanced nursing practice, being proactive in any clinical implementation project.
- Support the quality of clinical documentation.
Specific intervention areas:
- Clinical project management, notably related to the implementation of new professional practices.
- Direct and indirect intervention in complex or fragile clinical situations, supporting transition teams or specialised colleagues.
- Transformational leadership, for example: leading communities of practice by clinical domains, addressing the specific needs of populations followed at home.
- Participation in clinical research, linked to evidence and aiming at continuous improvement of clinical skills.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) SCN
- At least 5 years’ experience as a nurse and at least 5 years as an SCN
- Experience in home care or community health is an asset
- Ability to work interprofessionally within a multidisciplinary team
- Good pedagogical skills, flexibility and proactivity
- Ability to align with the institutional line
- Committed, motivated person with excellent interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of the Geneva care network.
