Role:
For our ROCKEN partner, an internationally active company in the passenger inland shipping sector based in Basel, we are looking for an experienced accounting specialist. In this independent role, you will manage the financial accounting and ensure correct, timely financial statements according to OR and/or Swiss GAAP FER. You will be the central contact person for the auditors and tax authorities and contribute significantly to financial transparency through your careful working style.
Responsibilities:
You manage financial accounting including general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, asset accounting and periodic accruals
You independently prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to OR and/or Swiss GAAP FER including variance analysis
You assist in the preparation of tax returns
You prepare audits, accompany them and act as contact person for auditors and tax authorities
You create ad-hoc reports and evaluations
You deputise in handling payment transactions
Qualifications:
You have completed a commercial basic education (EFZ) as well as further training in finance and accounting (e.g. professional certificate in finance and accounting, fiduciary with federal professional certificate or in training for this)
You bring several years of proven professional experience in financial accounting, ideally as a chief accountant or in a fiduciary company
You are confident in Swiss accounting and tax law (OR, Swiss GAAP FER and/or IFRS); experience with auditors and authorities is an advantage
You communicate fluently in German and English, both spoken and written
You work confidently with common M365 programmes; knowledge of SAP is an advantage
