Senior Project Manager Building Construction (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced individual for strategic client advisory and overall project management of demanding building construction projects. You will take on the development of project strategies, definition of project goals, and overarching control of new build and renovation projects from the initial project idea through to handover to operations. The focus is on professional representation of client interests, ensuring economic and technical project objectives, and managing complex planning and realisation processes. The position combines senior project management, strategic real estate consulting, and entrepreneurial responsibility with active maintenance and development of an established network within the Swiss construction and real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

• Independent overall project management and client representation for demanding new build, conversion, and renovation projects in building construction

• Development of project-specific strategies and approaches considering the economic, technical, and operational requirements of the client

• Definition and coordination of project goals, quality standards, and requirement profiles as a basis for structured project development and realisation

• Overarching control and monitoring of all planning and realisation processes across the relevant SIA service phases

• Representation of client interests vis-à-vis architects, specialist planners, authorities, and contractors, ensuring targeted collaboration

• Responsibility for cost, schedule, and quality management including monitoring of project budgets, milestones, and agreed performance targets

• Establishment and leadership of interdisciplinary project organisations as well as coordination of internal and external project participants

• Early identification and assessment of project risks and development of appropriate measures to ensure project success

• Preparation of decision-making bases, feasibility assessments, and management reporting for clients and responsible decision-making bodies

• Support during building inspections, commissioning, and structured handover of real estate projects into operation including coordination with owner and operator organisations

• Active acquisition of new client mandates and building construction projects as well as identification and development of new business opportunities

• Maintenance and strategic development of existing customer relationships and industry networks with clients, authorities, planners, and other actors in the Swiss construction and real estate sector

Qualifications:

• Completed university degree in architecture or civil engineering ETH/FH or an equivalent higher technical qualification; additional training in construction project management, real estate management, or client advisory is an advantage

• Several years of solid experience in client advisory, client representation, or overall project management of demanding building construction projects in the Swiss construction and real estate environment

• Comprehensive knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, construction processes, and project management methods as well as experience in strategic project development and management of complex planning and realisation phases

• Strong competencies in cost, schedule, quality, and risk management as well as experience in economic and organisational leadership of new build and renovation projects

• Existing network within the Swiss construction and real estate industry with contacts to clients, authorities, architectural firms, specialist planners, and other decision-makers as well as experience in client acquisition and mandate development

• Entrepreneurial, service-oriented, and communicative personality with strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and experience in leading interdisciplinary project teams

• Confident German language skills in spoken and written form for professional client advisory, preparation of decision-making bases, and conducting demanding negotiations; French, Italian, and English skills are an advantage
