Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional as an architect: design / project planning for the independent development and planning of demanding building projects in an established Swiss architectural firm. You will take architectural responsibility from the initial design idea through project planning and building application to the legally binding building permit and accompany your projects creatively during realisation. The focus is on design planning with ArchiCAD, building law clarifications, approval procedures, as well as coordination with clients, authorities and specialist planners. The position offers independent project responsibility, short decision-making paths and the opportunity to actively shape architectural projects from conception to construction implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Architectural design: Independent development of architectural concepts, design studies and creative solutions for demanding new build and renovation projects.

• Preliminary and construction project: Preparation of preliminary projects, construction projects, floor plan concepts, sections, elevations and spatial studies according to the relevant SIA phases.

• Building application and permits: Independent creation and coordination of building application plans, permit documents, area proofs and technical project descriptions.

• Building permit procedures: Independent management of approval procedures, official enquiries, project adjustments and supplementary evidence up to the building permit.

• Building law clarifications: Examination of building and zoning regulations, boundary and building distances, utilisation regulations and cantonal building codes.

• ArchiCAD and digital planning: Creation and editing of 2D/3D architectural plans, digital building models and project documents with ArchiCAD.

• Constructive and technical project development: Clarification of building constructions, materialisation, façade solutions and technical requirements in collaboration with specialist planners.

• Client consulting: Presentation of design variants, project concepts and building law solutions as well as coordination of planning with the client.

• Coordination with authorities and specialist planners: Cooperation with municipal building offices, cantonal specialist departments, structural engineers, building services planners and other specialists.

• Creative execution supervision: Ensuring architectural design quality, materialisation and creative specifications during execution planning and realisation.

• Project coordination with site management: Coordination of plan changes, technical detail questions and execution decisions with internal project and site management.

• Quality assurance and project documentation: Checking plan documents, building law evidence, project statuses and technical documentation.

Qualifications:

• Completed architecture studies at ETH or FH or equivalent recognised university degree in architecture.

• Several years of professional experience in architectural design and project planning of building projects in Switzerland.

• Solid knowledge in preliminary project, construction project, building application and building permit procedures according to the relevant Swiss SIA phases.

• Very good ArchiCAD skills as well as solid experience in 2D/3D architectural planning and digital building modelling.

• In-depth knowledge of Swiss building legislation, especially cantonal building regulations in Aargau, municipal building and land use regulations as well as relevant SIA standards.

• Experience in creative project development, constructive planning and coordination of specialist planners and authorities.

• Fluent German skills in spoken and written form for client consulting, official procedures, project presentations and technical documentation.
