WE ARE RECRUITING: Head Nurse – 70%

(40% nursing responsibility and 30% clinical activity)

Home Montagu, a small-scale medico-social establishment accommodating 21 residents, including people living with dementia, applies the Montessori concept. We are looking for a head nurse to join our team.

In a family-like and warm environment, you will hold a key role combining responsibility, care coordination, team management and presence on the ground.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting directly to the Management, you organise and coordinate the nursing sector. You ensure the quality, safety and continuity of care, respecting legal requirements, good professional practices and the needs of the residents.

You will specifically ensure:

• the organisation and smooth running of the nursing sector, supporting the team on a daily basis;
• a clear distribution of roles and responsibilities, in a professional, respectful and collaborative working atmosphere;
• staff planning according to residents’ needs and staffing requirements;
• participation in the development and monitoring of the nursing sector budget;
• support, integration and skills development of staff, as well as organising internal training;
• monitoring the quality and safety of care, analysing adverse events and risks, and applying and updating institutional procedures;
• coordinating care projects and the quality of handovers, in collaboration with doctors, residents, their relatives and network partners;
• active collaboration with Management and other sectors of the institution; you contribute to the development of care policy and ensure its operational implementation;

You will also carry out clinical activities amounting to 30%, to remain close to residents and teams and to anchor your responsibility in daily practice.

YOUR PROFILE

You hold:

• a Bachelor of Science HES in nursing, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross, and two years of full-time experience in the elderly care sector;
• training in management or care management, completed or ongoing, or significant experience in a supervisory role.

Beyond your professional background, we are looking for someone who:

• has a genuine interest in supporting elderly people;
• knows how to supervise, support and unite a team, especially during periods of change;
• values dialogue, human relations and interdisciplinary work;
• possesses a strong sense of responsibility, listening and evaluation;
• can set a clear professional framework while fostering a respectful and collaborative working climate;
• appreciates remaining present on the ground and close to residents as well as teams;
• knows how to manage priorities and remain calm in demanding situations.

Start date: 1 December 2026 or by agreement
Work rate: 70% (40% head of nursing / 30% HES nurse activity)

Salary: according to the 2026 Bernese scale

Hours: continuous (no split shifts)
