Construction and Project Manager (m/f/d)

Role:

On behalf of a client, we are looking for an experienced professional for construction and project management in building construction within an established architectural environment in Central Switzerland. You will independently manage demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects and accompany them from execution planning through realisation to building acceptance. The focus is on local site management, cost and schedule management, as well as coordination of specialist planners, contractors and clients. The position combines operational site leadership with holistic construction project management and offers responsibility for the technically, economically and qualitatively successful implementation of diverse architectural projects.

Responsibilities:

• Independent management and coordination of building construction projects during the tendering, realisation and completion phases according to the relevant SIA service phases

• Assuming local site management for demanding new build, conversion and renovation projects including supervision of all construction work

• Responsibility for cost planning and cost control including cost estimates, cost forecasts, budget monitoring and construction billing

• Creation, monitoring and ongoing updating of schedules and construction programmes to ensure timely project completion

• Coordination and leadership of contractors, trades and specialist planners as well as alignment of all trades and technical interfaces

• Organisation and leadership of construction meetings including minute-taking, action item management and follow-up of agreed measures

• Preparation and execution of tenders and submissions including specifications, offer comparisons and award proposals

• Review of contractor offers, change orders and invoices considering cost-effectiveness, contractual bases and project budget

• Monitoring execution quality regarding work planning, technical specifications, SIA standards and building regulations

• Technical advice and coordination with clients, architects and authorities throughout the entire realisation phase

• Organisation and execution of building acceptance including defect recording, defect rectification and handover of buildings

• Ensuring complete construction documentation including revision documents, warranty periods and project completion documentation

Qualifications:

• Completed basic training in construction, for example as a draughtsperson EFZ specialising in architecture, building draughtsperson or comparable construction-technical training

• Further training as a certified construction manager in building construction, HF technician in construction planning or FH civil engineer is an advantage

• Several years of professional experience in local site management and project management of building construction projects in Switzerland

• Sound knowledge in cost planning, construction cost control and schedule management as well as independent handling of construction projects

• Good knowledge of Swiss SIA standards, building regulations and construction processes, especially in the areas of tendering, awarding and realisation

• Confident use of common IT applications, especially Microsoft Office, as well as experience with construction cost, scheduling and construction administration software

• Very good German language skills in spoken and written form for construction meetings, technical documentation, contractor coordination and communication with clients
