Security Engineer - Infrastructure & Defence (m/f/d)

Role:
You want not only to identify security risks but also to sustainably reduce them with well-thought-out technical solutions? In this role, you combine engineering, cyber defence and modern automation. You develop security mechanisms, strengthen critical infrastructures and ensure that digital systems remain reliably protected even under demanding conditions.
Responsibilities:
Design and implementation of technical protective measures for servers, networks, endpoints and cloud environments
Further development of automated security controls throughout the entire IT lifecycle
Investigation of security incidents, correlation of event data and derivation of effective countermeasures
Development and optimisation of detection rules, attack detection and threat hunting
Securing CI/CD pipelines and container environments through DevSecOps practices
Conducting vulnerability assessments and prioritising technical security measures based on actual risk
Improvement of permission models, secrets management and privileged access
Implementation of security standards based on established frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls and MITRE ATT&CK
Collaboration with infrastructure, network, cloud and development teams for sustainable integration of security requirements
Qualifications:
Several years of practical experience in cyber security, IT infrastructure or security engineering
Technical understanding of networks, server architectures, cloud services and modern platforms
Experience in analysing logs, security events and potential attack paths
Knowledge in at least one area such as cloud security, endpoint protection, network segmentation or DevSecOps
Interest in automation with Python, PowerShell, Bash or comparable tools
Understanding of risk-based security concepts and structured vulnerability remediation
Initiative, analytical thinking and the ability to systematically solve complex technical problems
