Timber Construction Engineer (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF105,000 - 110,000Role:
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a specialist as a Timber Construction Engineer FH/ETH / Timber Technician HF for demanding projects in modern timber and engineered timber construction. You will develop and design timber load-bearing structures as well as timber-hybrid constructions and oversee new builds, conversions, and renovations through all relevant project phases. You combine constructive understanding with BIM-based planning, execution, and detailed planning and develop technically and economically convincing structural solutions. Interdisciplinary collaboration with architecture, structural engineering, specialist planning, and executing timber construction companies is a key part of the role.
Responsibilities:
Design, development, and planning of demanding timber load-bearing structures and engineered timber constructions
Handling of timber and timber-hybrid projects from concept to execution
Development of constructive solutions for structures, component assemblies, connections, and fasteners
Creation and coordination of digital 3D/BIM models for planning and execution
Preparation of execution, construction, and detailed plans in timber construction
Conducting or supporting static calculations, dimensioning, and structural verifications
Development of technically and economically optimised solutions for timber, timber-concrete, and hybrid constructions
Planning and constructive handling of new builds, conversions, and renewals of existing structures
Coordination of interfaces between architecture, structural engineering, building services, and timber construction companies
Review and coordination of workshop, production, and assembly documents
Technical support during realisation and handling of constructive issues during the execution phase
Ensuring planning complies with relevant SIA standards and Swiss timber construction standards
Qualifications:
Degree as Timber Construction Engineer FH/ETH, Timber Technician HF or comparable higher professional education
Professional experience in planning and designing timber or engineered timber construction projects
Solid knowledge in timber construction, structural engineering, and constructive detailing
Practical basic training as a carpenter EFZ is an advantage
Good knowledge of BIM/CAD planning and common technical planning software
Knowledge of relevant SIA standards, structural standards, and timber construction standards
Good German language skills for technical project work and interdisciplinary coordination
