Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for a specialist as a Project Engineer for Urban Water Management & Hydraulic Engineering for the planning and handling of diverse infrastructure projects related to water. You will accompany projects from feasibility studies and hydraulic calculations through to design and realisation, working on drainage systems, general drainage plans (GEP), sewerage and watercourse revitalisations among others. Together with interdisciplinary specialists, you will develop technically sound and sustainable solutions for municipal and regional infrastructures. The position is suitable for civil or environmental engineers who wish to deepen their knowledge in urban water management and hydraulic engineering.
Responsibilities:
Handling and design of urban water management and hydraulic engineering projects from concept phase to implementation
Preparation of feasibility studies, variant analyses and technical concepts for hydraulic infrastructure projects
Execution and evaluation of hydraulic calculations and modelling for sewer networks, drainage systems and watercourses
Participation in the creation and further development of General Drainage Plans (GEP) and municipal drainage concepts
Planning and design of sewerage, drainage and utility projects including renovation and expansion variants
Participation in watercourse revitalisations, flood protection and hydraulic measures considering ecological and technical requirements
Dimensioning and assessment of drainage facilities, sewer systems, retention and infiltration systems
Preparation of project foundations, technical reports, plans and cost estimates along relevant SIA phases
Support in tendering, approval procedures and realisation of planned infrastructure measures
Coordination with municipalities, authorities, specialist offices and interdisciplinary planning teams
Development of sustainable solutions in the area of sponge city, rainwater management and climate-adapted urban drainage
Qualifications:
Completed studies as a civil or environmental engineer FH/ETH
Specialist focus or initial professional experience in urban water management, hydraulic engineering, hydraulics or municipal infrastructure planning
Knowledge of hydraulic calculations and modelling as well as dimensioning of drainage systems
Knowledge of GEP, sewerage, rainwater management and watercourse revitalisation
Familiarity with relevant SIA and VSA guidelines as well as Swiss requirements in urban water management is an advantage
User knowledge of CAD, GIS and/or hydraulic modelling software is an advantage
Very good German language skills for technical reports, project documentation and collaboration with authorities
