Our client is a renowned Swiss engineering company, specialising in the design and implementation of sustainable solutions in the fields of water and energy.

A major player in the hydroelectric sector, the company supports its clients throughout the entire lifecycle of their projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning, renovation and securing of facilities.

As part of the development of its activities in French-speaking Switzerland, our client is seeking a hydroelectric developments engineer to strengthen its team based in Martigny or Sion.

Engineer in Hydroelectric Developments (M/F/D)

In this role, you will participate in the design, renovation and improvement of the performance and safety of hydroelectric infrastructures.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Design new hydroelectric developments in Switzerland, particularly in Valais, from initial studies to implementation.
  • Conduct rehabilitation and upgrading studies of existing power plants or developments.
  • Coordinate and carry out evaluation studies of hydraulic structures such as water intakes, headrace tunnels, lined shafts, penstocks and tailrace channels.
  • Perform head loss calculations and production simulations.
  • Estimate project costs and prepare implementation budgets.
  • Prepare tender documents, participate in the evaluation of bids and contract drafting.
  • Work closely with engineering, design and modelling teams.
  • Ensure technical monitoring and site supervision.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with clients and partners.



    • We expect:
  • A degree from a Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, University of Applied Sciences or equivalent training.
  • At least five years of experience in hydroelectric-related projects.
  • Proven experience in the design and sizing of hydroelectric structures.
  • Good general knowledge of electromechanical and hydromechanical equipment of hydroelectric installations.
  • Good command of applicable Swiss standards and guidelines.
  • Experience in hydraulic calculations, head loss and production simulations.
  • Strong analytical, coordination and project management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written command of French.
  • Knowledge of German and/or English is an advantage.
  • An autonomous, rigorous, proactive personality who enjoys teamwork.
