As a Senior Database Engineer, focusing on MS SQL Server, you support your colleagues in comprehensive data management from requirements engineering, consulting, optimisation to operational assurance and further development. You are also open to actively supporting your team colleagues in application integration.

Your job destination
- You are responsible for the design, engineering, and operation of our central data platforms such as MS SQL Server, MariaDB, and Oracle including monitoring
- You specify system architectures and software solutions and define the necessary technical resources for them
- You lead projects and further developments, including technical lifecycle initiatives, and ensure their successful implementation regarding quality, time, and budget
- You advise and support internal stakeholders on technical issues related to our services, especially regarding architecture, security, performance, and operations
- You support team development with your open, honest, and empathetic manner
- As part of the team, you take on on-call duties for our platforms and ensure quality, security, and availability with external operating partners
Your skills in your luggage
- You have a university degree (HF or higher) in computer science, systems engineering, or an equivalent further education
- You possess in-depth expertise in building, operating, and further developing highly available MS-SQL configurations (AlwaysOn) and bring experience in performance tuning, security, upgrades, and disaster recovery
- You have scripting experience with T-SQL and in the PowerShell area; experience with MySQL/MariaDB/Oracle is an advantage
- You have practical experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances
- You are open to supporting integration topics (streaming with Kafka / IBM webMethods ESB)
- You have very good German and good English skills
